Welcoming the New Year

I can't believe 2016 is coming to an end, I feel like it was just yesterday when I was planning my 2016 goals.

It's a friendly reminder that time flies wayyyy too fast and that we need to dive deep in the moment and live every moment like if it was your last.

This year was a roller coaster for me, but in a good way. So much happened, from getting a promotion from work, then quitting my job to push my photography, the launch of my first big project as a photographer (FINS) and well.. my engagement! Things seemed to always be up and down with a lot of projects coming in.

From all those amazing achievements, there were downfalls, like: struggling with my anxiety, learning how to be an entrepreneur, standing strong on certain projects, finding the right people to collaborate, controlling my self doubt etc.

Every good year has many downhills we need to conquer but that's part of the adventure. If everything was always amazing and nothing went wrong it wouldn't be fun and exciting right?

For me 2016 was the year where my dream wasn't a dream anymore, it became a project.

What I mean is for years and years my dream was to become a successful photographer traveling the world to shoot amazing humans and inspiring others to do what they love to do every single day. It was my dream, something I always wanted to do but never seemed quite possible.

In the last year, I surfed for the first time in my life, traveled to many exciting places, quit my job to pursue photography full time, and completed my first exhibition and, swam with sharks.

I might not be 100% where I want to be, living the dream I always wanted to be doing but I am glad to say that 2016 was that transition from dreaming about my goals, to actually conquering my goals to one day achieve my all time fantasy.

So now that 2016 is coming to an end, what does 2017 have in store for me?

I am not completely sure... Not going to lie, I am nervous coming into the new year because 2016 was such an exciting one, but I do know that I will be crushing new amazing goals. I am officially one year older and stronger, and my dream is starting to become clearer. I don't have specific goals in mind but that's okay. Sometimes you need to dip your feet in the new year for a while before deciding what exactly you want to achieve.

For all of those who are looking into creating a smooth transition into the new year, here are some questions that might help you create some goals to inspire you into 2017.

1. What do you want to improve on?

2. What was the best moment, and the worst moment of 2016?

3. Your biggest accomplishment of 2016?

4. How you can bring that accomplishment into the new year?

5. What would you like to achieve career wise?

6. If you could go anywhere in 2017, where would it be? And for how long?

7. What is your ultimate dream?

Now, another exercise I like to do is write down my top 17 of 2017 goals. Anything you would love to achieve or do (even if it feels unreachable write it down!). You will be surprised to see how many you crush by the end of the year.
