That new chapter

I had my first official sleepless night as an entrepreneur Monday and I can officially tell myself:

Welcome to the entrepreneur life Alex!

After coming back from Hawaii, I've been quite busy with organizing myself and making sure to start things off on the right foot. With my big expo coming up (more details to come in September) I have experienced a little more stress than the usual and now that I am committing to my work 100%, well the stress grew a lot more.

I had a great conversation with an inspiring young entrepreneur before I left sharing her experiences when she first started out and it calmed me quite a bit.

''Everyone goes through ups and downs and there's some nights I am curled up in a ball crying my heart out because of stress. No one tells you these things because we want to look strong.''

Don't get me wrong, we shouldn't be yelling out the door on how stressed and how emotional we get, but I think it's important to let young entrepreneurs know that it's normal to be feeling those emotions, especially when you are starting out.

Yeah you're stressed, and scared, but do you know what you have? Courage. Self confidence and the pursuit of happiness.

It takes gut to decide to quit everything and to pursue something you're so passionate about. From either becoming a painter or a dancer, to starting your own clothing line. You're creating your own path, and driving your life towards happiness.

I am so lucky to have met so many inspiring people who get up every single day doing what they love. They work so incredibly and it's amazing to see them grow and grow.

So if you're starting off like me, the first thing I want you to know is that you're fucking amazing. That not everyone can do what you're doing and to embrace those emotions. It's okay to have sleepless nights, and bad days - just shake them off and go surf or do what makes you happy.
