Adventuring 2 weeks on the eastern coast of Quebec

Last year, I had the opportunity to spend two weeks in Eeyou Istchee Baie-James in Northern Quebec, and this year I was lucky enough to spend two weeks discovering the east coast of Quebec with my husband and service dog, Alo. I don’t remember the last time my husband and I had the opportunity to go on a trip together considering he works a lot, and finally having two weeks off, we decided to pack up our little corolla, and head east.

Camping at Jacques-Cartier National park

Last Friday was the first time I went camping with Alo. We rented a Huttopia tent at Parc National Jacques-Cartier (SEPAQ) for a weekend adventure. I am usually always alone during outdoor adventures and this was a time where I could flip the page of loneliness and be able to have a partner be with me during my adventures. It was pouring rain, but that did not stop us from enjoying the amazing trails that the park has to offer. Located only about 15 minutes from Quebec city, Jacques-Cartier is probably one of my favorite parks because of the beauty, the fauna and the history.

magical dancing fairies gracefully gliding through the frost filled air, now free not hiding,

Into the North

We drove 5 000km in the space of two weeks cramped in one van. It was such a rewarding experience.

For the longest time, I have had a passion to document my own country, especially my own province and a particular attraction to the northern regions.

Adventuring through Chaleur region

The first week of August I organized a media trip in New Brunswick. Instead of going down south, where everyone else goes, I decided to spend the week in what people call ''the pit stop'' of New Brunswick, Région Chaleur.

The North. A photography Exhibition

My experience during the Into the North production was insane. Just getting back from the adventure, and my head is still trying to wrap around what happened throughout the 2 weeks. I learned a lot about the Cree culture, and how it's important to preserve the communities and inspire them to push towards tourism to help improve the region. I learned the importance of community, and to constantly push myself out of the comfort zone. There were times when the bugs were so bad I wanted to cry, and moments that were just to powerful it was a challenge to hold back tears.

A day with Audvik

And it all started a few days ago when Sophie (CEO of Audvik) called me up to see if I was available this coming Sunday to come document and capture the authentic moments during their Audvik ambassador day. I couldn't say no, as she described the day as a full on outdoor adventure at Parc National de Saint-Bruno.

New Years in Murdochville

''So what do you want to do for New Years this year?'' was the occasional question that would be going around in the apartment this holiday season. We were kind of opting for a quiet night in until I got a message from Anne-Sophie saying we are going to Chic-Choc for five insane days with really cool friends.

Having gone astray or missed the way.

I am currently sitting in dirt, exhausted and only 5 km shy from arriving at the end of my long hike.
A part of me is dreading to get back on my feet and continuing the way, and the other part of me is taking in the ocean salty air and feeling more alive than ever.
